Meg Whitman: Don’t blame Carly Fiorina for mass HP layoffs

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Meg Whitman knows exactly how Carly Fiorina feels.
Fiorina, a longshot 2016 Republican presidential candidate, has been sharply criticized for the job she did running Hewlett-Packard last decade. As HP CEO at the time, she presided over a plunging stock price and the layoff of about 30,000 workers.
Whitman, a fellow Republican who as current HP CEO has also cut tens of thousands of jobs, is now defending her predecessor.
