Former Vice President Mike Pence spent his Saturday in Iowa speaking at the annual Lincoln Highway Dinner in Ames.
The sold-out event at the Ames Golf & Country Club was put on by the Story County GOP.
Pence spoke to the guests for about 20 minutes. He focused most of his time on the upcoming election this November.
Pence also blamed the Biden administration for the skyrocketing gas prices across the country.
“You know, one of the advantages of no longer being Vice President is that I get to drive my own car. One of the disadvantages is that I get to pay for my own gas. Men and women, I just can’t even believe. President Biden says the reason that gasoline prices have nearly doubled since they took office is the war in Ukraine. But let me explain something, gasoline prices are skyrocketing because of the war on energy,” Pence said.
Pence says that Republican majorities in Congress will help implement policies that will bring energy prices back down.
