Faulkner University leadership announced on Monday that tickets are sold out to its Annual Benefit Dinner on Thursday, Oct. 7. Former Vice President Mike Pence will be the featured speaker at the event.
Rebecca Burylo is a spokesperson for Faulkner University.
“This year’s event will not only be an opportunity to hear a globally-known speaker who has held one of the highest offices of our nation, but it will also give us a chance to celebrate new educational opportunities for our students and exciting new initiatives at Faulkner University,” Burylo said. “We’re excited to share the ways we are partnering with the River Region including the area of health sciences.”
Pence served as the 48th vice president of the United States from 2017 to 2021. Prior to that, he served as governor of Indiana. He has also served in the U.S. House of Representatives. Pence is the featured speaker at this year’s Annual Benefit Dinner. Mike and Karen Pence have three children. Pence is a possible Republican 2024 or 2028 presidential candidate.
Faulkner University is a private, Christian liberal arts university based in Montgomery, Alabama. With a mission to provide an education anchored by not only intellect but also character and service, the Faulkner experience aims to educate the whole person.
“We are enthusiastically looking toward the future and celebrating the many ways our students and this institution can positively impact our community,” Burylo said. “We sincerely thank everyone who will join us that evening and for their continued support of Faulkner University.”
Burylo said that Faulkner University’s Annual Benefit Dinner is a longstanding tradition and a red-letter event on the social calendar every year for Montgomery and the entire River Region.
Proceeds from the dinner go to support the university, and primarily, student scholarships. Over the years, many students have benefited from receiving scholarships thanks to the generosity of those who attend these benefit dinners.
Serving both traditional and non-traditional students, the university is home to six colleges: the Alabama Christian College of Arts and Sciences, the Harris College of Business and Executive Education, the V.P. Black College of Biblical Studies, the College of Education, the College of Health Sciences and the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law.
In addition to its main campus in Montgomery, Faulkner operates extension campuses in Birmingham, Huntsville and Mobile, along with its online degree programs. Faulkner has 3,036 students enrolled with 2,192 enrolled in undergraduate programs and 844 students enrolled in graduate programs. Faulkner University has 1,228 male and 1,808 female students are attending the school.
