Former U.S. Representative Stephanie Murphy has earned a reputation for leveraging her unique combination of pragmatism, strategic thinking, and policymaking to enable change and drive organizations toward achieving key objectives. She brings the expertise and experience required to navigate private and public entities through the complexities of public policy, national security, and global business operations.
A compelling and frequently sought-after speaker and media contributor, Stephanie is also the founder of the Center Aisle Coalition, which champions America’s commonsense center in today’s hyper-partisan political environment. She currently serves in an advisory role for organizations in the financial services, consumer products and pharmaceutical industries, helping executives navigate the complex geopolitical and business landscape. Stephanie is also a national security advisory board member for the Rand Corporation and the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, and co-Chair of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition.
Stephanie made history as the first Vietnamese American woman to serve in the U.S. Congress (2017-2023). Her bipartisan leadership – including breaking through gridlock as co-chair of the pragmatic Blue Dog Coalition – resulted in recognition by the Lugar Center’s Bipartisan Index as one of the most effective and most bipartisan members of Congress. She led on trade and national security issues, established the Employee Retention Tax Credit, and played a key role in historic investments in infrastructure and policies addressing climate change. Stephanie also served on the House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Previously as Managing Director at SunGate Capital, Stephanie evaluated new investment opportunities and partnered with management teams of existing portfolio companies to drive growth. Stephanie was also a finance instructor at Rollins College where she was instrumental in launching the Social Entrepreneurship program.
While working at the Department of Defense, Stephanie gained experience at the Pacific Command, the Navy Service Staff, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. She led the development of Department strategies and priorities, managed programs that fostered interagency and multinational collaboration, and shaped defense policy for the Asia Pacific region. Stephanie started her career with Deloitte Consulting and Eli Lilly & Company in Washington, D.C.
Stephanie is a graduate of Georgetown University with a Master of Science in Foreign Service and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the College of William and Mary. She also earned the Directorship Certification from the National Association of Corporate Directors.
