Jan Jeffcoat is an Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Award-winning television news anchor with more than two decades of experience in broadcast journalism.
She currently serves as the main anchor for Sinclair’s national morning show The National Desk. Before this role, Jan held prominent anchor positions at the CBS affiliate in Washington, D.C., as well as Fox affiliates in both Chicago and Houston, and CBS affiliates in Charlotte and Charleston, South Carolina. She also helped launch the national television news magazine show The List for Scripps and has appeared as a guest co-host on Entertainment Tonight and CBS’s The Talk.
Jan is a sought-after speaker on topics including faith and family, the evolving media landscape, politics, and the role of journalism in today’s world. Drawing on her deep industry experience, she also works with organizations as a trusted media trainer—offering workshops and presentations that equip executives, teams, and spokespeople with the tools to confidently navigate interviews, press appearances, and crisis communication.
Her versatility extends into film and television acting. She has guest starred on This Is Us (NBC), 9-1-1 (Fox), What If (Netflix), and Truth Be Told (Apple TV). Her film credits include Line of Duty (starring Aaron Eckhart), Mainstream (directed by Gia Coppola), and the Lifetime movie My Daughter Was Stolen. She also appeared in a national Taco Bell commercial that aired during Super Bowl LIII.
Over the course of her journalism career, Jan has earned multiple Emmy Awards. Notably, she received a 2010 Emmy and a 2011 Edward R. Murrow Award for her 30-minute documentary covering the devastation in Haiti following the earthquake. In recognition of her achievements, the University of South Carolina named her Young Alumnus of the Year in 2010.
Jan began her television career at the age of 12 as the host of a children’s program in her hometown. She currently resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband and their two daughters.
