Young America’s Foundation Announces Governor Scott Walker As President-Elect
Young America’s Foundation (YAF) is excited to announce that 45th Governor of Wisconsin Scott Walker has been elected by YAF’s board of directors as president of Young America’s Foundation, effective February 1, 2021.
Governor Walker courageously advanced freedom in a state that once was a “progressive” bastion. He championed right-to-work laws, right-to-life causes, and defended Wisconsin’s wage earners from over-reaching bureaucrats and tax collectors.
With hard-earned conservative credentials, Governor Walker’s fearlessness to do the right thing—regardless of opposition—mirrors the commitment to freedom’s principles seen in bold YAF activists across America. His dedication to rooting out fraud and corruption also reflects YAF’s work to expose the Left’s schemes to corrupt higher learning and indoctrinate—rather than educate—today’s young people.
Governor Walker has been involved in Young America’s Foundation programs throughout his time as governor, and his wife, Tonette, serves on YAF’s Reagan Ranch Board of Governors.
In addition to guiding Young America’s Foundation, Governor Walker will also oversee the management of more than 500 Young Americans for Freedom Chapters; President Reagan’s Rancho del Cielo and YAF’s Reagan Ranch Center–the largest conservative campus on the west coast; YAF’s Center for Entrepreneurship & Free Enterprise and the National Journalism Center; America’s largest campus lecture program; and an aggressive legal strategy to ensure institutions and administrators are held accountable when they violate students’ First Amendment rights.
Over his more than four decades as YAF’s president, Ron Robinson built the modern Conservative Movement in America. His bold vision to reach generations of young people with conservative ideas included YAF’s purchase of President Reagan’s beloved Rancho del Cielo in 1998 and his work to successfully defend students’ rights from campus quads to the Supreme Court.
“Governor Walker has been one of the most successful and principled governors in American history—I believe his experience and leadership will strengthen our ability to fulfill YAF’s mission,” remarked Young America’s Foundation President Ron Robinson.
“It has been my honor to work with students and supporters over the past four decades to help make a difference in the lives of countless young people from coast-to-coast and preserve the home and legacy of one of the greatest Presidents in our nation’s history. I am especially thankful for the loyalty, dedication, and hard work of our board of directors, vice presidents, and our entire YAF team,” Robinson noted.
“I look forward to further accomplishments during my remaining time as the Foundation’s president, and I am excited for what the future will bring under the leadership of Governor Walker.”
“Ronald Reagan inspired me as a young person to become a conservative and an optimist,” noted YAF President-Elect and 45th Governor of Wisconsin Scott Walker. “It is an absolute honor to be chosen to lead an optimistic organization inspired by President Reagan to show young people the truth about how common-sense conservative ideas work—and it is a privilege to follow in the footsteps of Ron Robinson who is a giant in the Conservative Movement.”
Young America’s Foundation is committed to ensuring that increasing numbers of young Americans understand and are inspired by the ideas of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise, and traditional values. As the principal outreach organization of the Conservative Movement, YAF introduces thousands of American youth to these principles each year.
