O.C. man named Gingrich’s state finance chief

Eric Beach, a young Costa Mesa businessman and consultant who’s already racked up an impressive political resume, was today named Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich‘s California finance chairman. Beach could prove key in Gingrich’s effort to gear up his fundraising and organization.
Gingrich is the frontrunner for the GOP nomination in national polls, but lags behind Mitt Romney in the key categories of organization and fundraising. California is fertile ground for fundraising by both parties, and the state’s Democratic leanings will play little role in the primary. If the nominee has not been determined by the state’s June primary, California could be decisive.
