Carly Fiorina, the first woman to head a Fortune 500 company and a member of the James Madison University Board of Visitors, will give a talk on Constitution Day, Sept. 20, at JMU.
The lecture, “To Create a More Perfect Union …,” will begin at 7 p.m. in Wilson Hall Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
Fiorina became the first woman to head a Fortune 500 company and a company in the Dow Jones Industrial Average when she became CEO and president of Hewlett-Packard Co. in 1999. She was also a presidential candidate in 2016, becoming the first declared female candidate to seek the Republican Party’s nomination. She was recently appointed to her second term on the JMU Board of Visitors.
President Jonathan R. Alger will host the Madison Vision Series event, which will also include a question-and-answer session with members of the audience.
The Madison Vision Series honors James Madison’s conviction that cultivating an informed and educated citizenry is essential to the health of our republican democracy.
