“As Donald Trump built out his Cabinet and White House staff, one of his appointments that generated particular interest was Katie Walsh.

Walsh, the former Republican National Committee chief of staff, originally joined Trump’s team as a deputy chief of staff at the White House. But in March 2017, it was announced that she would join the pro-Trump nonprofit America First. And by July 2017, she was back at the RNC. Here’s what you need to know about the woman who, at least for a few months, ran many day-to-day operations at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

1. She’s Accomplished A Lot At A Young Age

At just 32 years old, Walsh has achieved a lot in a relatively short career. The St. Louis native graduated with a business degree from George Washington University in 2007. Before her time at the RNC, she worked on several political campaigns and with the Ashcroft Group, the consulting firm founded by former Attorney General John Ashcroft. The gig that allowed Walsh to really make a name for herself was as regional finance director for the McCain-Palin presidential campaign.”
