Former White House spokesman; Award-winning Republican Political Strategist and Communicator; Columnist; Author; Adjunct Professor
Pete Seat is more than a guy with a rhyming name. A regular national and international news commentator, he has provided live on-air analysis for CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, NewsNation, Newsmax, BBC, and Australia’s Sunrise on 7 more than 300 times combined. His voice is sought after for astute political analysis, a knack for challenging conventional wisdom, and a unique ability to invite nuance while making complex issues accessible.
Based in the American Midwest, Pete Seat brings both the perspective of the Heartland and firsthand experience with how Washington works, or doesn’t, from his time on the White House staff of President George W. Bush. Event planners can count on his deep preparation, quick thinking, humor, and humanity leaving audiences informed, energized, and thinking differently about politics, leadership, and America’s role in the world.
When you leave the room, you lose the argument. So why aren’t you in every room? In a keynote built to meet the moment, filled with memorable anecdotes from feisty live television debates and unexpected real-world interactions, former White House spokesman and regular CNN and Fox News guest commentator Pete Seat demonstrates why the fight for reality doesn’t happen in echo chambers and the real work of persuasion requires going into uncomfortable places where people don’t already agree with you.
Key Takeaways:
John F. Kennedy said, “The essence of decision making is opaque even to the decision maker.” This keynote aims to change that. Combining firsthand experience working inside the West Wing with lessons from his course on the American Presidency at the University of Arizona, former White House spokesman and adjunct professor Pete Seat takes audiences behind the scenes of presidential decision-making to reveal what every leader, in any field, and in any community, can learn from the people who have occupied the Oval Office.
Key Takeaways:
Every day in politics is a week, each week is a year, and a year is a lifetime. And yet, too many prognosticators are still reading yesterday’s playbook in search of today’s tea leaves. In a timely and candid keynote or private briefing tailored to your business, group or association, former White House spokesman and regular CNN and Fox News guest commentator Pete Seat brings the political conversation from the television studio to your stage with fresh, up-to-the-minute insights into the players, the pressures, and what might be on the horizon.
Key Takeaways:
Hiding sounds smart. Retreat feels safe. But engagement remains the winning strategy for America. In this provocative and urgent keynote, Atlantic Council Millennium Fellow and international news commentator Pete Seat makes the case for re-embracing America’s emotionally exhausting burden as a global superpower, why that burden matters to everyday Americans, and how strategic involvement outside our borders strengthens the country inside our borders.
Key Takeaways:
Pete Seat is a former White House spokesman, nationally and internationally recognized political commentator, award-winning communications strategist, author, adjunct professor at the University of Arizona, and sought-after voice on politics, leadership, and global affairs.
With sharp wit, conversational authenticity, and unforgettable storytelling, Pete Seat has provided live on-air political analysis more than 300 times combined across CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, NewsNation, Newsmax, the BBC, and Australia’s Sunrise on 7, and is a regular panelist on CNN’s NewsNight with Abby Phillip. Whether breaking down the latest political skirmish, challenging stale talking points, or helping audiences think differently about leadership and communication, Pete brings both substance and style to every appearance.
Currently a vice president at Bose Public Affairs Group in Indianapolis, Pete advises clients on crisis communications, grassroots advocacy, and executive media coaching. His creativity and innovation in developing and executing winning messaging and public engagement strategies have earned him prestigious national recognition from his peers.
Before entering the private sector, Pete served on the White House staff of President George W. Bush as deputy assistant press secretary. He worked alongside Tony Snow and Dana Perino, traveled to 23 countries with the president, and logged thousands of miles aboard Air Force One. He later served as communications director on then-Indiana Lt. Governor Eric Holcomb’s historic 106-day campaign for governor and as communications director for former Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats’ successful 2010 U.S. Senate campaign. Across those roles, Pete built a reputation for steady message discipline and the ability to perform under pressure when the stakes were high and the cameras were on.
The only child of immigrant parents, his work and leadership have also earned recognition beyond the United States. Pete is an Atlantic Council Millennium Fellow and two-time American Council of Young Political Leaders delegate, having traveled on exchanges to India and North Macedonia. As a columnist and author, his work has appeared in Politico, CNN.com, MSNBC.com, USA Today, and Newsweek; and he penned The War on Millennials, a book examining the grievances, preferences, and political identity of his generation.
Pete teaches a remote course on the American presidency at his alma mater, the University of Arizona, where he graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts, a background that helps explain why he is as comfortable commanding a room as he is navigating a live television segment. A native of Schererville, Indiana, Pete is bilingual in English and Serbian, has attended twenty-two World Series games (with an uninterrupted twenty-year streak, pandemic included), and once danced on stage during an Elton John show in Las Vegas. Thankfully, unlike his television debates, no video exists.
His content was informative, entertaining, and inspiring. These are elements that every remarkable speech must have, and he delivered. The final touch was the personal one-on-one he made time for so that anyone who wanted to sit down and talk with him personally got that opportunity. His charisma was inviting, and attendees took to him immediately.
