Biography
Mark Schulman is an internationally acclaimed keynote speaker, world-renowned drummer, author, and performance expert who has spent more than three decades helping individuals and organizations perform at their highest level. Best known as P!NK’s longtime drummer for 15 years and four record-breaking world tours, Mark has also shared the stage with some of the biggest names in music while inspiring audiences around the world with his high-energy presentations on attitude, resilience, leadership, and peak performance.
A classically trained cellist who grew up in Los Angeles, Mark began performing as a teenager with the Los Angeles Junior Philharmonic before eventually playing cello during P!NK’s 2009–2010 tour. Throughout his remarkable career, he has become one of the music industry’s premier first-call drummers, performing with artists including Cher, Billy Idol, Foreigner, Sheryl Crow, Stevie Nicks, Beyoncé, and many others. He was voted one of the “Top 3 Pop Rock Drummers” in the Modern Drummer Readers Poll in 2014 and appeared on the cover of the magazine’s May 2019 issue.
Mark’s résumé includes performances at Ozzfest with Velvet Revolver, Glastonbury Festival with Simple Minds before an audience of more than 225,000 people, and appearances on many of the world’s most recognizable television programs, including the Grammy Awards, Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, American Idol, The Paul O’Grady Show, The X Factor, the German television show Wetten, dass..?, the ARIA Awards, and more.
Beyond the concert stage, Mark has become one of the world’s most sought-after motivational keynote speakers. His dynamic presentations have inspired audiences at organizations including American Express, Microsoft, IBM, Dell, Cisco, Aveda, Kaiser Permanente, the NCAA, SAP, and many others. To date, he has delivered more than 2,000 keynote presentations, conducted over 1,000 drum clinics, and reached audiences totaling more than one billion people worldwide.
Passionate about education and giving back, Mark is a former chairman of Create Now!, a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of underserved children through creative arts mentoring. A cancer survivor, he has also inspired children and teens through seminars with Ronald McDonald House and fundraising events supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust in the United Kingdom.
An accomplished educator, Mark previously taught at the Los Angeles Music Academy and continues to lead drum clinics around the globe. He also produced the instructional DVD A Day in the Recording Studio: A Do-It-Yourself Guide to Recording Great Drum Tracks for Drummers and All Musicians, distributed by Hudson Music. His Mark Schulman Signature Snare Drum remains one of the best-selling signature products in Gretsch history.
Mark is the author of Conquering Life’s Stage Fright, which helps readers transform doubt, fear, and anxiety into confidence and clarity for any performance or presentation. He also co-authored The Attitude Equation with Dr. Jim Samuels, exploring how attitude shapes behavior and ultimately drives extraordinary results through interviews with elite performers across business, sports, entertainment, and beyond.
In 2023, Mark became a judge and coach on the original music competition series BANDED, mentoring emerging artists while helping redefine the traditional “build-a-band” format.
In addition to his work as a performer and speaker, Mark is a music producer, trained audio engineer, and co-owner of West Triad Recording Studio in Venice, California.
