Biography

David Lochridge is a leading undersea explorer and career Submersible Pilot whose life has been defined by operating in environments where risk is real, consequences are permanent and preparation is everything. With a background spanning the Royal Navy, submarine rescue and global deep-sea exploration, he is widely recognized for raising documented safety concerns prior to the Titan submersible disaster and for sharing his perspective and experience as a Whistleblower in Netflix’s “Titan”. Today, he is a compelling and credible speaker on safety leadership, high pressure decision making and the realities of operating where failure is unforgiving.

David began his career in the Royal Navy before moving into commercial offshore diving and advanced underwater operations. He later qualified as a Submarine Rescue Pilot; operating specialist rescue systems designed for use when conventional recovery is no longer possible. This work demanded discipline, technical precision and absolute trust in procedures and equipment when there are no second chances. He went on to lead and operate manned submersible teams from expedition vessels and superyacht platforms around the world, delivering complex missions in remote and technically demanding environments.

He has appeared as an on-screen expedition expert in multiple documentary productions, including Netflix’s “Titan”, NHK/BBC “Kingdom of the Coelacanth”, “OceanXplorers” on Disney and “Inside the Red Sea Mission”. He has served as an Expedition Pilot with OceanX and now works as a Sub Team Leader with InkFish, operating advanced submersibles on high-profile, deep-sea expeditions, while continuing to support submarine rescue operations as a way of giving back to the submarine community.
