Thought Leader: Evan Feigenbaum
June 17, 2025

What’s driving dynamics across Asia? In our latest Pacific Polarity episode, Dr. Evan A. Feigenbaum of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace breaks down the key geopolitical trends reshaping the Indo-Pacific.

Our expansive dialogue covered several topics, including:

* Climate change in the Pacific,

* A prospectus of AUKUS and U.S.-Australia relations,

* China’s hardware-software tech ecosystem,

* The future of rule-setting in Asia,

* U.S.-China economic statecraft, and

* The importance of American strategists to understand the concerns and aspirations of Asian states as independent actors, as opposed to pawns in the competition between the United States and China.

Evan Feigenbaum, a former diplomat, has been an advisor to two American Secretaries of State, a former Treasury Secretary, the CEOs and boards of leading companies, and investment funds in all asset classes. He has negotiated with dictators and ex-guerillas, written a book on China as a high-tech superpower, and worked with and in countries from China to India, Australia to Kazakhstan. He is vice president for studies of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the world’s oldest international affairs think tank. To host him for a speaking opportunity, contact WWSG.
