Pat Riley

Widely regarded as one of the greatest NBA coaches ever, Pat Riley's resume is filled with many milestones during a career that spans 38 years as a player, assistant coach, head coach, administrator and broadcaster and has produced seven NBA championships.  He is the current President and former Head Coach of the Miami HEAT, a 2008 Basketball Hall of Fame inductee and the only Head Coach in NBA history to capture Coach of the Year honors with three different teams. 

However, Riley is not only one of professional basketball's most successful leaders, he has also earned the title of "America's Greatest Motivational Speaker" and has been rated by Success Magazine as "the best in his field" for his powerful, engaging presentations.  He is a consummate competitor who knows the exhilaration of winning and he electrifies audiences with his immense energy, exceptional insight and endless enthusiasm in each and every appearance.

Playing to Win: The Pinnacle of Success

Throughout his 38-year career in the NBA, Pat Riley has established a standard of excellence within professional basketball, both on and off the court, that has allowed his teams to reach unprecedented heights and positioned him as one of the most successful coaches ever in NBA history.  He reached the 1000 victory plateau faster than any other coach or manager in the four major North American professional sports leagues and currently stands as the all-time leader in both regular season and postseason victories for both the Lakers and the Heat.  Most recently, Riley led the Heat to win the 2006 NBA World Championship - the first ever for the franchise - as well as being inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008.

Dedicated Philanthropist and Community Leader

Riley, along with his wife, has also been involved with numerous charity and community service projects throughout his career.  They founded The Miami HEAT Family Outreach in 1997, which has raised over $5 million for the South Florida community and whose beneficiaries include seriously ill children, and SafeSpace, which is a domestic violence shelter for women and their children. They are also involved in the Pediatric AIDS Foundation's Kids for Kids organization which they started in 1992 in New York, and the YMCA in Los Angeles, New York, and Miami. For over 30 years, the Rileys have been actively involved with Boys and Girls Clubs of America. As a result of his efforts, Riley has received many prestigious awards, including the Miami Project Sports Legend Award, Boys and Girls Clubs Miami Person of the Year Award, and was honored by the YMCA Miami.
