Inside Washington Politics

Mort Kondracke has a long and storied career as a Washington journalist.  He has been Executive Editor and a columnist for Roll Call for nearly two decades.  He served 16 years as one of the original panelists on the NBC/PBS public affairs show, The McLaughlin Group, seen on over 350 stations nationwide. Before joining Roll Call, Kondracke served as executive editor and senior editor of The New Republic.  He was the Washington bureau chief of Newsweek, a regular panelist on "This Week with David Brinkley" and a columnist for The Wall Street Journal. In addition, Kondracke received the Washington Post "Crystal Ball Award" in 1994 and 2006 for correctly predicting the outcomes of those elections.

Dedicated Humanitarian and Activist

Kondracke chronicled his wife Milly's struggle with Parkinson's disease in his 2001 book entitled Saving Milly. Her long battle with the disease led Kondracke to become an advocate for Parkinson's research and for increased government spending on medical research. Personally and professionally dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease, he is a member of both the Parkinson's Action Network and the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
