Former Dallas Cowboys player Daryl Johnston is considered one of the best fullbacks of his day.  Nicknamed "Moose" by a teammate and beloved by fans, Johnston won three Super Bowl titles and was selected to two Pro Bowls, including as the first blocking fullback ever selected to the NFC Pro Bowl team. Today, he occupies the NFL on FOX's No. 2 broadcast booth as a color commentator.  A true student of the game, Johnston's keen analysis has been well-received, prompting the New York Daily News to report: "Johnston consistently delivers the most credible player's-eye view of the game."

A Football Star-On the Field and Off

After earning the respect and admiration of his teammates for his contributions to the Dallas offense, Daryl "Moose" Johnston received national recognition for his play in 1993, when he became the first blocking fullback selected to the NFC Pro Bowl team. As the lead blocker for the Cowboys, he helped pave the way for Emmitt Smith to win four NFL rushing titles, and he helped Dallas win three Super Bowls in the 1990s.  Johnston played 11 seasons in Dallas before a neck injury originally suffered in 1997 led to his retirement shortly before training camp in 2000. He immediately became a star analyst in the broadcast booth, first at CBS and, since 2001, for Fox.

Dedicated Humanitarian

Johnston has been a major contributor to many charities including the Special Olympics, Children's Cancer Fund, Cystic Fibrosis and Literacy Instruction for Texas (LIFT). He has also served as honorary chairman for MDA's "Aisles of Smiles" campaign, and for the American Cancer Society's Gunslingers' Ball. In 1999, Johnston's numerous community service activities led to his nomination for the prestigious "Whizzer White Humanitarian Award."
