Zbigniew Brzezinski, Ph.D.

A brilliant strategist and one of the most respected international affairs experts in America, Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski served as National Security Advisor to President Carter and as an active participant in history.  The signing of the second Strategic Arms Limitation Treaty (SALT II), the brokering of the Camp David Accords, the battle in Afghanistan against Soviet influence --- these are just a few of the historic events Dr. Brzezinski not only witnessed but played a critical role in as well. 

In 1981, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom "for his role in the normalization of U.S.-Chinese relations and for his contributions to the human rights and national security policies of the United States."  Currently, he serves as Counselor and Trustee for the Center for Strategic & International Studies and is a professor of American foreign policy at the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University.  In addition, Dr. Brzezinski is an international advisor to several multi-national corporations, guiding them in addressing the most important international issues facing businesses today.

The son of a Polish diplomat who left Europe just prior to World War II, Dr. Brzezinski is the author of The Grand Failure: The Birth and Death of Communism in the 20th Century, The Grand Chessboard, Second Chance: Three Presidents and the Crisis of American Superpower and co-author of America and the World: Conversations on the Future of American Foreign Policy. He is also a frequent contributor to many foreign and domestic newspapers and journals including Financial Times, International Affairs and The International Herald Tribune.  Dr. Brzezinski is also a regular commentator on prominent TV programs and networks in the U.S. and around the world.

A committed humanitarian, Dr. Brzezinski serves as chairman and on the board of several philanthropic organizations. These include AmeriCares Foundation (a private philanthropic humanitarian aid organization), American Committee for Peace in the Caucasus, International Crisis Group, and Trilateral Commission (a cooperative American-European-Japanese forum).  He is also Chairman of the International Advisory Board for the Yale Project on "The Culture & Civilization of China" and a member of the International Honorary Committee for the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw.
